Alpharetta, Georgia (Feb. 19, 2019)—AGC Glass North America is proud to announce that Kent Thrift, a coating engineer with the company, has been awarded the 2019 Jim Colbridge Memorial Technical Scholarship.

Sponsored by the Society of Vacuum Coaters (SVC) Foundation, the Scholarship is intended to further the education of those currently working in the field of vacuum coating technology. It provides a financial award to be used toward tuition, books, fees and travel to industry conferences.

Recipients are chosen based on relevance of field of work in vacuum coating, level of experience and personal qualities such as motivation and social values.

“We are extremely proud of Kent and his capabilities as a Coating Engineer at AGC,” says Mark Twente, director of marketing for AGC Glass North America. “He is more than deserving of this scholarship, and we are excited to support him in furthering his education, his abilities and, ultimately, his career with AGC.”
