Caucus educated Congress & the public on the need for greater investment in critical infrastructure

WASHINGTON (June 3, 2016) – The American Public Works Association (APWA) applauds Congressman Ryan Costello (PA- 06) and Congresswoman Dina Titus (NV-01) on their formation yesterday of the United States House Public Works and Infrastructure Caucus. The bipartisan caucus was formed to raise awareness of the critical importance of public works and infrastructure. It will be invaluable for educating Members of Congress, their staff and the public on the important services and projects that communities across the country depend on, including roads and bridges, drinking water, flood control and stormwater, recycling, solid waste removal, parks and recreation, public fleets and building and emergency response.

“APWA represents more than 29,000 public works professionals across North America, and we are thrilled that the U.S. House of Representatives has established a new Public Works and Infrastructure Caucus,” said APWA Executive Director Scott D. Grayson. “The creation of the ‘Public Works and Infrastructure Caucus’ will bring more attention and education about the crucial role that public works and infrastructure play in the daily quality of life in our communities, and to the investments required to maintain and operate them."

APWA also commends the House Public Works and Infrastructure Caucus as a means to educate Congress and the public on the need for greater investment in our critical infrastructure, which is vital to the economy.
