Birmingham, Alabama (Feb. 12, 2019)—Command Alkon, maker of supplier collaboration platform for construction’s heavy work, has announced a paid parental leave benefit, effective Feb.11, 2019, which will provide work flexibility and financial stability to parents who are welcoming a new addition to their families.
“This new program demonstrates our commitment to provide our employees an opportunity to bond with their newborn or adopted child without the stress and anxiety of having to return to work because they were running low on paid time off,” said Scott Baker, vice president of the people team at Command Alkon. “It builds on other important steps we’ve taken to invest in our people and create a positive experience for the employees at our company.”
The policy will provide 6 consecutive weeks of paid leave for new mothers welcoming a new child or children, whether by birth or adoption. Pay during that leave will be 100 percent of an employee’s base rate at full-time, or 40 hours per week. New fathers will also receive 100 percent of their pay for 3 weeks, beginning the day of birth or adoption of the child.
To be eligible, an employee must be a permanent and full-time employee. No minimum tenure is required to receive the benefit.
The United States still lags behind the rest of the world when it comes to providing paid parental leave to full-time employees of an establishment. For more information, visit commandalkon.com.
