DALLAS (September 11, 2017)—International Risk Management Institute Inc. (IRMI), has opened several resources to the public at no charge to help victims and insurance professionals navigate the insurance process after the devastation of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
Jack Gibson, IRMI’s president and CEO, said, “IRMI would like to express our heartfelt thoughts and prayers for those affected by these hurricanes. In the days ahead, our industry will be called upon to serve those affected by this catastrophic event. We know you will be working hard to process claims quickly and effectively to meet the needs of our fellow citizens as they return to their homes.”
IRMI would like to support your important work by making our publications Personal Risk Management and Insurance (PRMI) and Commercial Property Insurance (CPI), along with other flood resources, available to those of you in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida at no charge until September 30, 2017.
We know that this tragedy will affect our industry and the citizens of all the affected regions for months to come, and we stand ready to help as the claims paperwork begins.
In addition to our FAQ page titled “Hurricane Harvey: 12 Things You Need To Know Now about Your Insurance,” you can also download the free guide, “10 Key Steps To Prepare for a Disaster.” These resources are consumer-friendly pieces to help insurance professionals get the word out quickly to their clients. We encourage agencies to use the information on their own websites. A webinar will also be available, as will links to additional sources of information.
These pages have been posted in IRMI social media, and we encourage sharing. Our founder and chairman, Bill McIntyre, has said that he would “like to spread the word far and wide to help the highest number of people.”
