ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (Aug. 22, 2024) — Kodiak Building Partners, a leading building materials distribution company, announced today they have won the Denver Business Journal’s “Partners in Philanthropy” award for 2024. The prestigious award honors outstanding commitment to supporting metro Denver area nonprofit and charitable organizations.
“It is an honor to be considered among such community-focused businesses,” said Steve Swinney, Kodiak Building Partners CEO. “Our company was founded on the belief that with success comes the responsibility to actively contribute to and uplift the community. This award validates our efforts and motivates us to continue growing our contributions alongside our company’s growth.”
Kodiak’s team, across both corporate and its operating companies, is encouraged to lead charitable projects, including fundraising, and to volunteer time and resources for community benefit. Reflecting a core tenet of the company’s values, Kodiak founded the Kodiak Building Partners Foundation in 2019 to facilitate greater philanthropic contributions. The foundation serves a dual purpose: supporting employees in need and enabling Kodiak and its operating companies to accept donations for the charities they champion. Through the combined efforts of the company and the foundation, more than $5.2 million has been contributed to empower both Kodiak’s employees and the communities where Kodiak operates.
Judges for the Partners in Philanthropy awards evaluated nominees on several criteria, including innovation and meaningful contributions through their partnerships with nonprofits and charitable organizations. Nominees’ activities, including volunteer work, monetary or in-kind donations, and board membership, were also key factors in the final selections.
The Denver Business Journal announced the 2024 Partners in Philanthropy award winners on Aug. 19. Kodiak and the other honorees will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Oct. 2.
