KENNEDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (Aug. 1, 2024) — Rosedale Technical College announced the launch of its new carpentry program, aimed at preparing students for employment in carpentry and construction. The new 16-month program equips students with the necessary knowledge, skills

and practical experience to produce skilled carpenters who are ready for a career in the trades. Rosedale Tech has started enrolling students into the new program, with the first class kicking off on Nov. 24. The carpentry program at Rosedale Tech offers comprehensive training in fundamental carpentry techniques, safety protocols and industry best practices. Students will gain hands-on experience in rough framing and formwork, as well as interior and exterior finish applications. Additionally, they will develop a basic understanding of other building systems applicable to both residential and commercial settings as they gain exposure and incorporate their learnings to the other programs that Rosedale Tech offers (electrical, HVAC, etc.).

Rosedale Tech’s Carpentry program offers students the chance to engage in real-world projects, allowing them to apply their theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios. Under the guidance of experienced carpentry instructors, participants will have the chance to construct small buildings, frame structures, build cabinets and undertake various other practical assignments. Upon successful completion of the program, consisting of four 16-week semesters, students will earn an associate degree in specialized technology.
