NEW YORK (Feb. 5, 2025) — Skanska USA, a global construction and development firm, has launched Skanska Advanced Technology (SAT), a new specialized operating unit focused on high-tech and semiconductor manufacturing. Part of the company’s USA Building business unit, SAT will be led by Executive Vice President and General Manager Katie Coulson.

With projects spanning Oregon, Arizona and California, SAT currently employs more than 180 professionals and collaborates closely with Skanska’s regional operating units to deliver cutting-edge solutions across Skanska’s footprint.

Skanska has a strong record in this space with more than $23 billion in advanced technology projects completed or under construction. Creating SAT will help Skanska meet the rapidly growing demand for high-tech and semiconductor manufacturing projects.

“Establishing SAT is an important strategic move for our business, and Katie is the ideal leader for our SAT team,” said Clay Haden, president and CEO Skanska USA Building. “Katie is an action-oriented leader with a record of success developing and leading high-performing, inclusive teams. Under her leadership, we are well positioned to better serve our key customers and seize emerging opportunities in the high-tech/chips manufacturing sector.”

An industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience in high-tech manufacturing and a proven record of operational and account management success, Coulson will oversee all aspects of SAT’s operations. Coulson joined Skanska in 1999 and most recently served as senior vice president – account manager, where she managed Skanska’s longstanding relationship with its largest high-tech manufacturing customer. In her new role, Coulson will have leadership responsibility for the unit, reporting to Jim Link, regional executive officer, Skanska USA Building.
