CHICAGO (October 17, 2017) – Viscosity Oil Company is celebrating its 125th anniversary this month with the opening of a completely renovated laboratory and office space and an international celebration at the Field Museum, featuring a variety of entertainment. Viscosity Oil Company was founded in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood in 1892 and is now located in Willowbrook, Illinois.
The company’s new laboratory will allow its on-staff chemists and chemical engineers to develop innovative products and cutting-edge technology for its customers.
Through the years, Viscosity Oil Company has been instrumental in building America, selling roughly 40 million liters of lubricants a year. The company has carved out a critical role for itself in a crowded market, working for some of the biggest companies in the agriculture and construction industries, including Case New Holland, International Harvester, Skil and Black and Decker Power Tools.
