busybusy takes timecards from a paper process process to a real-time, shared activity. The app saves you and your workforce time and money by digitalizing the time-tracking process. Employees clock in when they reach the jobsite, and a GPS tracker time stamps the location so you can see where your employees are and what they are working on. The app has the ability to host multiple projects at once, allowing for greater ease of management by your leadership team.
Don Hansen, director of marketing for busybusy, mentions a pattern they see often in the industry that led to the creation of the app itself. In 2005, Isaac Barlow, busybusy's founder and president, owned an excavation company. As he was trying to manage the company, he realized he was in need of a tool to help him keep track of his employees and his job costs.
Through his research, he found that a higher percentages of construction companies fail than other companies in other industries. The industry needed a tool to enable better profits. By allowing the employee to clock in remotely when they arrive on the job, coupled with a GPS time stamp of the location they are at when they clock in, you can trust that your empoyees are where they need to be, when they need to be.
Barlow launched busybusy in 2009.
"It's simply a more efficient and user-friendly way (and user friendly) to keep track of time and your employees, and then use it for review after the project is over," Hansen said.
How do I get it? The app is available for download on iOS and Android systems for tablets, mobile phones and computers. According to Hansen, busybusy is now operating in seven countries: Australia, Canada, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Brazil and the United States.
How does it work? Employees use the app to clock in and out of projects/jobsites using their own smartphones. Employees who don't own smartphones can be clocked in by a superintendent or project manager. This, Hansen said, is the beauty of the app: an authorized person can clock in a group of people or each employee can do it himself. It is up to the business owner to customize the settings.
Why do I need it? The app provides you, the business owner, with a clear, accurate picture of what is going on in your business, with your employees, at all times. It helps you and your workforce stay productive.
How much does it cost? There is a basic version and a professional version of the app. The professional version is priced as a monthly fee for the business owner, which starts at $39 per month. The price adjusts based on the number of users.
