The demand for sustainable buildings has quickly transformed the way construction projects are handled. McGraw-Hill Construction estimates that the value of green nonresidential building construction in the United States will be worth between $120 billion and $145 billion by 2015, which means you must prepare your team for their new responsibilities in this expanding market.

When working on green buildings, construction managers, laborers and equipment operators have to maintain environmentally-friendly on-site processes, such as following a recycling plan for unused construction materials and protecting environmentally-sensitive areas on-site. The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) has developed its Sustainable Construction Supervisor Training and Certification Program to arm construction professionals with an in-depth understanding of green construction practices. The program recognizes the vital role construction professionals play in implementing green building practices and design, and it provides relevant training to those who work on LEED and other green projects.

The Sustainable Construction Supervisor Training and Certification module has been approved by the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC) for 20 general and LEED-specific continuing education hours for credential maintenance.
