BOSTON (March 12, 2018) – The Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts Inc. (ASM), the United States Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety (MDOS), renewed an alliance to promote workplace safety and health and educate workers on construction hazards. The renewal signing took place at Eastern Insurance in Natick, following one of ASM’s bimonthly Safety Roundtable events.
ASM members will receive information and educational resources to help protect employee health and safety. The alliance will focus on preventing exposures to lead and silica hazards and increasing awareness of fall protection and electrical safety, as well as supporting other key OSHA safety and health campaigns and initiatives.
“ASM is pleased to renew this alliance,” said Carrie L. Ciliberto, Esq., ASM chief executive officer (CEO). “Safety is critical to all ASM members, and anything ASM can do to improve the health and safety of our members is of paramount importance to us.”
Through its Alliance Program, OSHA fosters collaborative relationships with groups committed to worker safety and health, such as trade and professional organizations, unions, consulates, faith- and community-based organizations, businesses, and educational institutions, to prevent workplace fatalities, injuries and illnesses. Alliance partners help OSHA reach targeted audiences, such as employers and workers in high-hazard industries, and give them better access to workplace safety and health tools and information.
