Combined effort fulfills Nebraska governor’s initiative and adds new hiring resource for members

DES MOINES, Iowa (March 24, 2015)—BirdDogHR and the Nebraska Chapter of Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recently announced the creation of a new career site targeted at professionals and newcomers interested in pursuing jobs in the highway construction industry. The Career Page at AGC Nebraska offers an easy way for Nebraskans to locate and apply for jobs in the construction industry, following on the heels of Nebraska Governor Pete Rickett's plans to create and grow “good-paying” jobs in Nebraska. The new "Construction Career" page was launched to members on February 18 at the Nebraska Chapter AGC annual convention. The page is a no-fee service for Nebraska Chapter AGC members that will help them meet the growing workforce challenges facing the industry. “The AGC members offer great career opportunities in the heavy highway, road, bridge and underground utilities industries throughout Nebraska,” said Katie Wilson, executive vice president for the Nebraska Chapter of AGC. “Our industry faces an uphill battle with the retirements of baby boomers over the next 5-10 years. This new 'Construction Career' page creates a great opportunity for our contractors, suppliers and engineering firms to introduce their job opportunities to the next generation of worker that starts their career search on the internet. The new page will help us meet this future demand by connecting skilled talent with growing companies.” For more information, visit BirdDogHR.
