BETHLEHEM, Pa. (April 8, 2025) — The Metal Building Contractors and Erectors Association (MBCEA) announced that Bobbitt Construction Inc., headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, is the first metal building assembler based in North Carolina to obtain the prestigious AC478 accreditation administered by the International Accreditation Service (IAS). AC478, Accreditation for Metal Building Assemblers Inspection, is a standard to recognize metal building assemblers committed to excellence.

Achieving this accreditation demonstrates that Bobbitt has the personnel, the organizational skills, experience, knowledge, management procedures and commitment to assemble metal buildings in accordance with code, specifications, costs and deadlines. Requirements for this accreditation include documented management systems, rigorous safety training, quality managers, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training, documented safety plans, site-specific plans and other documentation.

“AC478 accreditation achieved by Bobbitt Construction exemplifies their culture, their reputation, in taking the complex process of construction and making it safe, making it easy — even enjoyable — to their clients and partners,” notes MBCEA President Robert Tiffin. “Congratulations to the team, the family at Bobbitt Construction!”

Bobbitt CEO Brian Denisar said, “Pursuing the IAS AC478 accreditation was a natural step for us as we continue to strengthen our safety practices, training and project execution. The process gave us the opportunity to take a close look at the systems we depend on and ensure they meet a nationally recognized standard. Being the only metal building assembler in North and South Carolina to earn this accreditation highlights our commitment to doing the job right — for our clients, our teams and the communities we serve.”
