New York (May 13, 2015) – EarthCam announced that it has chosen architecture firm Davis Brody Bond (DBB) to design its new 10-acre campus in Northern New Jersey. The webcam technology company has experienced sustained growth for over 18 years, driving the need for a new corporate headquarters. In selecting the award-winning firm, EarthCam has secured a collaborator who is experienced in designing smart industrial facilities and cultural designs. The project, led by partner Steven M. Davis, FAIA, is five times the size of EarthCam’s current headquarters, making it the largest facility in the world dedicated to webcam technology and services. Consistent with their hard working and dynamic culture, the campus fosters an energetic work environment with indoor/outdoor café, gym and recreation areas. DBB and partner Spacesmith designed the interior, where floor to ceiling windows and skylights bring the outdoors in and provide natural light to the open, organic work spaces throughout the building. The revitalized grounds, originally designed by famed landscape architect James Rose, will now include meditation areas, walking paths and bike trails. “It’s a privilege to work for Brian and design a unique work environment that reflects both the innovative technology and artistic approach of the most recognized name in the industry,” said Davis. “My vision for the new EarthCam campus is to reshape the existing space to mirror what some of the largest tech companies are doing today.” EarthCam has been documenting iconic Davis Brody Bond projects such as the 9/11 Memorial Museum in New York City and the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, D.C. The architect’s unique style and extraordinary work on these projects are visible in time-lapse movies produced by EarthCam editors, available to watch and share on www.youtube.com/earthcam. “As we write the next chapter in EarthCam’s history, I wanted a space that would create an environment to further our innovation and enhance creativity while aligning with our corporate culture,” said Brian Cury, CEO and founder of EarthCam. “I have admired Davis Brody Bond’s work for years, and it’s an honor to collaborate with Steven.” Located in Upper Saddle River, New Jersey – just 25 miles outside of New York City – the technology-driven redesign will be LEED certified for environmental sustainability.
