IRVINE, Calif. (June 20, 2017) — MMFX Steel Corporation announces that it has partnered with a business development representative in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean: José Santiago Aponte will work with MMFX to sell and develop projects in the region. Aponte brings nearly 20 years of experience in construction management for water, wastewater and road infrastructure projects; he also has pharmaceutical plant project experience. José’s unique expertise suite includes being a certified NACE Inspector CIP Level 2, a licensed Engineer in Training (EIT) and a protective coating specialist.

Most recently, Aponte has served as corrosion and coating consultant on projects for the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority, several port maintenance terminals and the Saint Croix jet fuel terminal. Before that, he held project coordinator, QC inspector, QA engineer and resident engineer positions for several architecture and engineering firms. Responsibilities included scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and monitoring change order management and payment requisition processing. Additionally, he was accountable for monitoring the Construction Quality Control (CQC) system on various government projects.

“We are fortunate to have such a valuable partner in José. Having him on the ground in Puerto Rico will facilitate our entry into the Caribbean region. His extensive experience with local infrastructure projects should dovetail neatly with the work we hope to accomplish there,” said Sherry Sweitzer, vice president of sales and marketing at MMFX Steel Corporation. “We expect to learn much from Aponte, and we value his standing in the Caribbean infrastructure community.”
