Penta Technologies recognized as technology enabler

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.(Oct. 14, 2014)—Mechanical contractor Murphy Company and industrial contractor K2 Industrial Services were each awarded Constructech Vision Awards at a ceremony in San Francisco, California. Penta Technologies was jointly recognized as Technology Enabler. Murphy Company was recognized for their use of PENTA Mobile and Role-Based Workbenches. The integration and application of these technologies has allowed Murphy Company to streamline the collection of time/material/equipment data from their service technicians at customer sites. Instead of being in the field and having to record information to be sent back to a database and billing at a later time, technicians are able to record all information from the field and upon completion of a service ticket, billing is immediately notified. K2 Industrial Services was recognized for their deployment methods in implementing PENTA construction ERP. K2 recognized native cloud offerings did not facilitate sharing data and integrating all of the component software they wanted to deploy. In addition, they did not provide comprehensive business continuity/disaster recovery. With PENTA, uptime and integration were imperative. The solution was to take a comprehensive on-premise solution from Penta Technologies into the cloud using Amazon Web Services and third- party management tools from 2nd Watch. Benefits included: • A flexible cost model • Better use of internal technology staff • Comprehensive disaster recovery • Improved management visibility “I couldn’t be happier for Murphy and K2,” stated Karl Koenig, president and CEO of Penta Technologies. “They both embody the spirit of true partnership. When they recognized opportunities to overcome challenges in their businesses, they came to the table with ideas, we came with our ideas, and together we arrived at solutions that address those challenges better than either of us would have arrived at independently.” “We’ve been very pleased with our deployment,” added Scott Simmering, chief information officer at K2 Industrial Services. “There are all kinds of things we’d rather invest in before investing in the infrastructure to properly support all our locations. Our deployment gives us the confidence that we can grow with our business while providing a secure and disruption free environment.” “Our time-to-bill has improved significantly since we introduced PENTA Mobile, and our management team has access to real-time, accurate data,” said Aaron Geiger, chief information officer of Murphy Company. “In our business, service is huge, and the bottom line is that PENTA has helped us improve the service we provide to our customers.”
