More than 2-acre retail site constructed in high pedestrian traffic area

LAS VEGAS (March 3, 2015) – The PENTA Building Group announced it recently completed construction of Grand Bazaar Shops Las Vegas. The Strip’s newest outdoor shopping center opened for business on Thursday, February 26. PENTA completed its work on the project under budget and almost a month ahead of schedule. During the peak of construction, PENTA had 120 construction workers on site. Located at what is touted as one of the Strip’s busiest intersections, Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road, the project came with the unique challenge of delivering materials to a job site where approximately 60,000 people walk daily. To protect these pedestrians, PENTA required all materials be delivered from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m., with delivery of fill materials scheduled from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. “Grand Bazaar Shops is a unique addition to the Strip for visitors and local residents alike to enjoy,” said Joel Wallis, PENTA’s senior vice president of operations. “The PENTA Building Group is proud of the role we played to help this project come to completion, and the challenges we overcame throughout the process.” PENTA’s role included working directly with the ownership group for almost a year on various alternates and schemes to maximize leasing spaces and meet budget requirements. The end result is a unique new shopping alternative on the Strip anticipated to provide approximately 1,000 new local jobs. The company's construction of retail shells on the promenade in front of Bally’s Las Vegas includes more than 120 shops ranging from 150 to 300 square feet, with a select group of retail spaces providing 1,000 to 2,400 square feet. Construction also included 26,500 square feet of food, bar and restaurant space, part of which features second-story views of the Strip. PENTA also installed specially designed metal canopies.
