Birmingham, Alabama (December 10, 2018)—Command Alkon, creator of integrated supply chain technology solutions for the heavy building materials industry, has announced that the Ready Mixed Concrete (RMC) Research & Education Foundation’s Troesh Matching Gift Campaign goal has been accomplished. The foundation was to raise a combined $12 million over the course of five years, and the goal has been achieved in just two and a half years.
“We are thrilled that our industry has come together to achieve the RMC Research & Education Foundation’s goal of achieving a three to one ratio match to fully leverage the Troesh Family Foundation’s gift,” said Phil Ramsey, chief executive officer of Command Alkon. “It’s an honor to give back to the industry players who positively impact our communities and to contribute to the foundation’s purpose to improve quality, sustainability and professionalism in the ready-mixed concrete industry.”
In October, Command Alkon extended an offer to help the organization meet the remaining $200,000 needed through a dollar-for-dollar match on any new donations. The challenge was met by several associations, companies and individuals, including Ernst Concrete who added an additional $100,000 to their contributions. With the campaign goal achieved, the foundation is close to being self-sustaining forever, so it can continue to invest in fundamental industry research and education now and for future generations to come.
“It’s amazing what our industry has accomplished in such a short period of time, and we’re thankful for the generous support from Command Alkon and numerous others from across the industry,” said Julie Garbini, RMC Research & Education Foundation executive director. “We are now within striking distance of becoming the lasting resource for industry research and education we’ve long envisioned, and we are grateful to all who have contributed to achieving this goal.”
