Last week, Texas Central (the company developing the rail line) announced it had entered an agreement with Houston and Dallas to complete the design and build of a $20 billion high-speed rail line.
A joint venture between Salini Impregilo (Italian construction and civil engineering contractor) and The Lane Construction Corporation (Salini’s United States subsidiary) is estimated to account for $14 billion on the project. The 240-mile rail line is estimated to create 10,000 construction jobs annually while in construction.
The project team hopes to have the train operational by 2026.
