(Oct. 31, 2019)—CG/LA Infrastructure, through its flagship Blueprint 2025 initiative, has launched the National Infrastructure Performance Council, a new, wide-ranging group of national leaders focused tackling the country’s infrastructure development and investment.  Maurice R. “Hank” Greenberg, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) at C.V. Starr & Co. Inc. and General (Ret) David Petraeus are founding members of the council.  

Washington, D.C. (Oct. 30, 2019)—The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) has announced the recipients of its 2019 Leadership Awards, an annual recognition of the outstanding individuals and organizations at the forefront of the green building community. This year’s recipients will be recognized at the USGBC Leadership Awards Ceremony taking place Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, during the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo.

London, England (Oct. 31, 2019)—Total construction and real estate industry merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in September 2019 worth $13.52 billion were announced globally, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 5.7% over the previous month and a rise of 13.7% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $11.89 billion.

Atlanta, Georgia (Oct. 29, 2019)—Takeuchi-US, compact equipment innovator, held a ground-breaking ceremony Friday, October 11, for a new training facility set to open spring 2020. The new center will allow dealers from North America and around the globe to gain knowledge about Takeuchi products and offer year-round service training to its growing dealer network. 

Tallahassee, Florida (AP) (Oct. 29, 2019)—Florida Governor Ron DeSantis urged lawmakers Tuesday to pass legislation that would require employers to use a federally operated electronic database to verify the immigration status of workers. 

But it’s unclear if that effort will get any traction among lawmakers during next year’s legislative session, after a similar measure failed to make it to his desk earlier this year.

Grand Rapids, Minnesota (Oct. 29, 2019)—ASV Holdings Inc., a manufacturer of all-purpose and all-season compact track loaders and skid steers, has announced Barda Equipment as the 2019 ‘Dealer of the Year’ and Barry Equipment as the 2019 ‘Rookie of the Year.’ ASV presented the awards at its annual dealer meeting.
