WASHINGTON (April 7, 2023) — The construction industry lost 9,000 jobs on net in March, according to an Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) analysis of data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. On a year-over-year basis, industry employment has grown by 196,000 jobs, an increase of 2.5%.

HAMILTON, NJ (March 21, 2023) — Total construction starts rose 6% in February to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of $912.8 billion, according to Dodge Construction Network. During the month, residential and nonresidential building starts rose 11% and 9% respectively, and nonbuilding starts declined by 5%.
