Princeton, NJ (November 13, 2012) – The Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) has announced a partnership with the Association of Equipment Management Professionals (AEMP), the goal of which is to develop an ongoing relationship in the area of education and the training of their respective members.
CFMA and AEMP strive to deliver to their members’ continuing education to maintain high skill levels, and they now seek to share that expertise with one another. “The time could not be better for this partnership between CFMA and AEMP,” said Stuart Binstock, president and CEO of CFMA. “We look forward to offering both of our respective members continued opportunity for growth and education to keep them at the forefront of the industry.”
Some of the highlights of the agreement are that CFMA members who have attained the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) designation will be granted continuing education credits for attending AEMP courses, conferences, webinars and online classes. Likewise, AEMP members and the recipients of AEMP’s certifications will be granted continuing education credits by successfully completing any CFMA professional education program, including group study live presentations, webinars, and web-based self study programs.

Both are committed to best practices in cost efficiencies in the management of fleet assets,” says Stan Orr, CAE, president and CSO of AEMP. “This new relationship between CFMA and AEMP will provide tremendous opportunities to demonstrate that commitment.”
Established in 1981, CFMA’s members represent all types of contractors – including general and subcontractors – as well as developers, construction managers, architects, engineers, principals, and material and equipment suppliers. CFMA associate members include the accounting, insurance, surety, software, legal and banking specialists who serve the construction industry. CFMA chapters offer local workshops, seminars and programs that complement the extensive member services provided by CFMA Headquarters in Princeton, New Jersey. CFMA currently has 6,500 members in 89 chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Formed in 1982, AEMP advances heavy duty on- and off-road equipment management as a career. AEMP represents fleet professionals who work in construction, government, utilities, energy, mining and more. The association builds and maintains relationships among manufacturers, users, government agencies, educational institutions and others involved in the design and operation of equipment. With headquarters in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, AEMP helps members attain the contacts, knowledge, career development and personal growth needed for success. Both organizations have started to implement the agreement, so CFMA and AEMP members should be able to access the benefits of this partnership and educational tools soon.
