SAN DIEGO, (March 13, 2012) -- For the third consecutive year, Turner Construction Company is honored to be named one of DiversityBusiness.com's Top 50 Organizations for Multicultural Business Opportunities. This list recognizes American organizations that provide the most and best business opportunities for companies owned by women and minorities.
The organizations that appear on DiversityBusiness.com's list are selected through an online survey of more than 1,250,000 woman and minority-owned businesses across many market sectors. The chosen organizations distinguish themselves by establishing and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with diverse suppliers and subcontractors. Turner Construction Company has awarded more than 52,000 contracts, with a total value of more than $18 billion, to minority and woman-owned businesses since 1979. Last year alone, Turner Construction Company awarded more than $1 billion in contracts to minority and woman-owned businesses.

Turner Construction Company's support for minority and woman-owned businesses is achieved through a number of means, including offering the Turner School of Construction Management. This program seeks to improve the economic viability of minority and woman-owned businesses by enhancing their managerial, technical, and administrative skills. Since 2005, Turner's San Diego office has had over 500 graduates from the Turner School of Construction Management. In 2011, Turner Construction Company held three sessions in San Diego, in partnership with local agencies, community members, and associations.
