PEACHTREE CITY, GA, May 9, 2012 – SANY America is pleased to announce that the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce named the company a finalist in the Foreign Direct Investment category of the 2012 Global Impact Awards.
Each year, the Metro Atlanta Chamber recognizes international companies making significant contributions to the local community and economy. Over the past five years, Sany America has invested more than $60 million in Georgia and currently employs more than 120 people.
Last year, SANY announced its intention to build a new $25 million R&D facility alongside the company’s 400,000 square foot corporate headquarters in Peachtree City, Georgia. The new R&D site will employ roughly 300 hydraulic and mechanical engineers focusing on systems research.
“We find tremendous value in the local community here in metro Atlanta,” said Kyle Nape, vice president of global sales and marketing, after receiving the finalist recognition plaque at a ceremony in the city. “The community in Peachtree City has welcomed us with open arms, and we feel privileged to call the Atlanta area our home.”
SANY America is a wholly-owned subsidiary of SANY Heavy Industry, China’s largest construction equipment manufacturer. Last year, SANY entered the Financial Times Global 500 list and this month, the company finalized its purchase of Putzmeister, the leading global concrete pump manufacturer.
