SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (November 4, 2015) – BuildingConnected recently announced that it closed $8.5 million in Series A funding to bring the construction industry ridiculously easy tools to save time and money during the bidding process.

The investment was led by CrossLink Capital, with participation from existing investors Homebrew, Freestyle, Bee Partners and Brick & Mortar. With the $8.5 million investment, BuildingConnected has now raised a total of $10.7 million.

ATLANTA, Ga. (November 16, 2015) - Winter Construction has completed a 33,000 square-foot addition to the Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton, Georgia.

The two-level addition includes a ballroom with operable partitions, prefunction and service areas, restrooms, and storage and office space. The new Paris Ballroom features 20-foot ceilings, French chandeliers and an outdoor terrace.

The not seasonally adjusted (NSA) construction unemployment rates for the country and 48 states were down in September on a year-over-year basis. NSA jobs increased by 199,000 from September 2014 to September 2015.

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (October 22, 2015) – International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP represented Kvaerner North American Construction Inc. (a subsidiary of Kvaerner) in arbitration proceedings against Foster Wheeler North America Corporation related to the Longview project delivered in 2011. Dorsey won the matter and Kvaerner North American Construction Inc. will be awarded from the arbitration proceedings USD $74 million in cash from Foster Wheeler North America Corporation.
