MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. (October 22, 2015) – International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP represented Kvaerner North American Construction Inc. (a subsidiary of Kvaerner) in arbitration proceedings against Foster Wheeler North America Corporation related to the Longview project delivered in 2011. Dorsey won the matter and Kvaerner North American Construction Inc. will be awarded from the arbitration proceedings USD $74 million in cash from Foster Wheeler North America Corporation.

September leasing and finance index finds new business volume is up 22 percent month to month

INTERNATIONAL (October 9, 2015) - Singapore Changi Airport is undergoing a multi-billion dollar expansion program. Part of the development is the construction of a new terminal, Terminal 4, which will open to the public in 2017. Changi Airport currently welcomes around 66 million passengers a year but the introduction of Terminal 4 will see that number boosted by around 16 million passengers a year.

2015 equipment and software investment forecast shows expected growth of 4.1%

Washington, D.C. (Oct. 7, 2015) - Investment in equipment and software is expected to grow 4.1 percent in 2015, according to the Q4 update to the 2015 Equipment Leasing & Finance U.S. Economic Outlook released today by the Equipment Leasing & Finance Foundation. The Foundation lowered its forecast to 4.1 percent, down from 5 percent growth forecast in its Q3 Update to the 2015 Annual Outlook released in July.

For the last 15 years, August and September have been transition months for the national NSA construction unemployment rate

NATIONAL (10/2/2015) - Nationally, the construction employment picture has continued to improve from last year. The not seasonally adjusted (NSA) construction unemployment rates for the country and 45 states were down in August on a year-over-year basis. For the first eight months of the year, construction added 113,000 seasonally adjusted (SA) jobs. At the same time, NSA jobs increased by 221,000 from August 2014 to August 2015.
