The Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation & Aquatic Center, a design-build by Winter Johnson FS360, has earned the coveted Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold rating from the United States Green Building Council. Bridgestone Americas (Bridgestone) announced a $12-million investment that will expand production to include popular off-the-road (OTR) tire sizes at its Bloomington, Illinois, plant. The plant will produce multiple sizes and patterns in 29-, 33- and 35-inch OTR tires, which until now have only been produced by Bridgestone in Japan. Find out how this will affect customers here. 

Xsens, innovator in professional inertial sensor and 3D motion tracking, is applying its technology to a new venture by construction engineering company Dura Vermeer and augmented reality software developer Recreate—the Engineering Building Mixed Reality (EBMR) helmet. The helmet provides (for the first time) a 3D, real-time, holographic rendering of an architect’s plan, overlaid on the user’s view of the building site. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has approved the publication of a new standard address the need for dropped object prevention and tool tethering, formerlu know as ANSI/International Safety Equipment Association (ISEA) 121-2018: American National Standard for Dropped Object Prevention Solutions. This standard addresses the real need for reducing workplace accidents, injuries and deaths due to falling objects. Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, announced today that its modular manufacturing facility is operational and currently producing modules for multiple projects. Located in Birmingham's Valley East Industrial Park, the 125,000-square-foot facility currently employs 41 full-time plant and office workers manufacturing American-made, steel-framed modules for a variety of markets, including hospitality, university student housing and affordable multi-family housing.
