ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill. (Feb. 26, 2018) — Komatsu America Corp. announced it has entered into a purchase agreement with PBE Group, consisting of Pine Bush Equipment Co. Inc. and East PBE Inc., to purchase the assets of PBE group, subject to a period of due diligence and final approval of Komatsu Ltd. (with the exception of the Kubota line of equipment and parts). The planned closing date for the sale is April 1, 2018.

AKRON, Ohio — Welty Building Company named Bradley Ewing as president and chief operating officer (COO) of Welty Energy Business. In his new role, Ewing will have financial oversight and responsibility for growth, operations and project management of electric utility projects. He will lead a business unit transformation driven by Lean Building Science.

ROSEMONT, Ill. (Feb. 14, 2018) – The American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) proudly announces the affiliation of the Florida Chapter-ACPA, which expands the association’s network to 21 regional and local paving associations.  

DALLAS—Balfour Beatty was selected by Westdale and KDC to build The Epic, a 16-story office tower located in Dallas’ historic Deep Ellum neighborhood. With construction underway, the 290,000-square-foot office tower with 847-car garage, is the first phase of the planned 8-acre, mixed-use development that will combine Class A office, multifamily, retail and a boutique hotel.

NEW YORK (Feb. 7, 2018) – The Dodge Momentum Index dropped 5.1 percent in January to 143.7 from the revised December reading of 151.5. The Momentum Index is a monthly measure of the first (or initial) report for nonresidential building projects in planning, which have been shown to lead construction spending for nonresidential buildings by a full year.

(Feb. 9, 2018) – National law firm Lowenstein Sandler advised Foley Inc., the Caterpillar franchisee for northern New Jersey, Staten Island, and Bermuda, in acquiring substantially all of the assets of Giles & Ransome Inc. (Ransome CAT). The move expands Foley’s Caterpillar territory to include eastern Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey and northern Delaware.
